Square Enix closed off their E3 2019 presentation at the height of excitement with the highly anticipated Avengers video game they have been teasing. To be developed by Crystal Dynamics, players will be able to control the members of the renowned Marvel superhero team, from Captain America, Thor, the Hulk, Black Widow, Ant-Man, and Iron Man. Multiplayer and customizable options are expected features of the game, but at this point such details have still not been fully elaborated. For certain, this may surely satiate fans for what can be the next chapter or a new exploration of the Avengers post the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The cast of the MCU that has paved way for the Avengers franchise rise in the public eye has no involvement in the game, despite the strange uncanny semblance of the characters to their respective actors in the films. One thing’s for sure, that is certainly not Robert Downey Jr. Instead, voice actor veterans like Troy Baker, Laura Bailey, and Nolan North will be lending their talent to the game.

At the tail-end of Square Enix’s big show, Crystal Dynamics claims that Avengers will have no microtransactions like loot boxes or pay-to-win scenarios with guaranteed regular, free updates for the rest of its lifetime — a bold statement to make in this day and age. Fans and potential players will surely hold these statements to heart if this is truly the Avengers game many have waited for.

The game is slated to release worldwide May 15, 2020 on the PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Google’s Stadia platform. Playstation exclusive content will include early beta access.
