Playstation Now has been a bit of a head scratcher for a while now. It was expensive, a little laggy, only had PS3 games and the service is being sunset on everything except for PS4 and PC in the near future. Follow that with Microsoft’s new service that lets you download a variety of Xbox One and 360 games coming soon, and PS Now seemed dead in the water.
Sony seems to want to change that, finally announcing that Playstation 4 games will be available with a PS Now subscription this year. They will be joining the PS3 collection, so you only have to pay for one sub to gain access to them. Beta tests for PS4 game streaming will begin in the coming weeks, with Sony telling PS Now subscribers to watch their emails. If you can handle playing PS4 games in a streaming function, perhaps this would be an alternative to actually buying the console now, since it works on PC. Just don’t try to play Bloodborne, those framerate dips will kill you.
