Just shy of a month ago, Bethesda was shouting about how mod support for their games on PS4 was essentially not going to happen. Bethesda threw Sony under the bus, shifting excuses month after month, and it really seemed like the two companies were at an impasse. Now, seemingly everything has changed.

Bethesda has announced that mod support will be coming to Fallout 4 and the soon to be released Skyrim: Special Edition. Skyrim will have mods at launch but Bethesda didn’t say exactly when Fallout 4 would get the update. They also used the opportunity to make up with Sony a little, announcing that both games will look super pretty on the PS4 Pro.

Sometimes these negotiations and approvals can be incredibly frustrating, even more so when you have a rabid fan base continually reminding you of your promises. However, tossing a console manufacturer out the window with the bath water only to turn around and praise their machines is untoward. Passion and frustration often go hand and hand, but it behooves one to stay professional even at the worst of times. Bethesda may finally be fulfilling their promises, but the process was more than a little embarrassing.
