In November of 2010, the visual novel/adventure game/escape puzzler/sinking ship simulator Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors was dropped upon an unsuspecting North American market. Two years later, the direct sequel Zero Escape: Virtue’s Last Reward was released, and now, it is happening again. After a mysterious countdown website spread across the internet, the third game in the Zero Escape franchise was announced by localization team Aksys Games during Anime Expo 2015.

Not many details were given, but the game has entered development and is set for release sometime during summer of next year. A later press release confirmed Zero Escape 3 will be available on 3DS and PS Vita, which isn’t too surprising. Presumably, it will take place directly after the end of the last game. The cryptic press release mentions the necessity of “puzzle solving skills” as well as something called the “Zero Time Dilemma,” which might actually end up being the game’s official title. This aside, no gameplay, trailers, screenshots, or anything resembling promotional material has surfaced. Wait nine days and maybe something will come up.
