There was some more news besides the Direct this week!
A (Limited) Run Through of Limited Run’s Showcase
Limited Run had their own showcase, and it had some pretty neat announcements, that were a bit sullied by their “limited” printing directive. Here are some highlights.
- Gimmick!, the sleeper classic on the NES, is getting a sequel over thirty years later.
- Unfortunately, the original creator of Gimmick!, Tomomi Sakai, has no involvement with this game, and was even only made aware of its existence with this announcement.
- The Fighting Force beat-em-ups are being released in a collection, with more announced next year.
- Another PS1 title, Fear Effect, is also getting a remaster set for 2025.
- An FMV horror game with monster designs from Trevor Henderson was announced. Called GHOSTS, it’s being written and directed by Jed Shepard of HOST fame.
- Bubsy is also getting a “classic” collection alongside his boyfriend Gex. Gex is due out next year, Bubsy is due in 2025.
- Tomba 2 will be getting the Carbon treatment that Tomba‘s already getting.
- Beyond Good and Evil‘s 20th Anniversary Edition will get a physical release, and there’s a new mission being added that ties into the sequel that’s supposedly still happening.
If you want to watch the entire showcase, here it is.
