While Destiny continues to be a divisive game, there was one aspect even hardcore fans didn’t defend, Peter Dinklage. Dinklage, best known for his role as Tyrion in Game of Thrones, voiced Ghost throughout the story of Destiny. His distant and plain tone wasn’t just that of a robot who maybe couldn’t understand human emotion, it was that of a bored actor who maybe should have had a tad more direction or a smaller role. Yet when the game was released there he was, leading you around, and sounding completely over it all.

Now with Destiny’s newest expansion The Taken King coming out, some of the details about Ghost’s character are changing. Not only will Ghost now be voiced by Nolan North in the DLC, North will be going back and rerecording all of Ghost’s original dialogue. Thus, Peter Dinklage is being completely removed from the game.

I guess this shouldn’t really surprise us now that games don’t really ever finish, they get updated. But this seems crazy to go back through and change something so integrated into a game’s story almost a year after its initial release.
