It’s been almost five months since Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite was revealed, and there hasn’t been any new information since. Thankfully, the drought has ended, and the following characters are confirmed for the roster.
- Ultron
- Thor
- Hulk
- Hawkeye
- Rocket Raccoon
- Chun-Li
- Strider
- Chris Redfield
Not only that, but we have a full release date, September 19th.
In this blogpost, Combofiend points out that Capcom and Marvel locales will be mixed together for this game, really highlighting the crossover aspect of the game. Not only that, but Ultron and Sigma are fusing together to become the big-bad. Story, Arcade, Training, and Mission modes were all confirmed, so MvC:I will launch more feature complete than SFV at least.
There will be three editions of the game, the standard for $60 (which, if pre-ordered, comes with Warrior Thor and Evil Ryu costumes), Deluxe Edition for $90 that comes with the season pass (and Gladiator Hulk and Command Mission X), and a $200 collector’s edition that comes with Infinity Stone replicas as well as dioramas of Chun-Li, X, Iron Man, and Captain Marvel.
The 2017 season pass will include six new characters, and the first confirmed one is Sigma. Presumably he will be released soon after launch, as he IS already a main plot character.
