In news that delights me to my very core, Dragon Quest Builders 2 was announced and will be coming to both PS4 and Nintendo Switch. This was a bit of a surprise, since the original Builders only just came out last year, but did manage to sell over one million copies. The new entry adds a few features that’ll make the game much more enjoyable and less tedious. You can now glide, similar to Zelda: BOTW, which will make getting down large mountains much easier and traversing across the map much quicker. They’re also adding swimming, underwater dungeons, and expanding co-op and multiplayer modes.

Most of these changes will make Dragon Quest Builders 2 much more tolerable. A lot of the repeating tasks of the first were made ever worse when you had to struggle to find a way across a dangerous, monster filled landscape. The original’s multiplayer mode did exist, but it seemed like a last minute addition rather than a full fledged mode.

Hopefully this gives more people a chance to get into this series, and hopefully this doesn’t push me yet another inch closer to buying a regular Dragon Quest game.
