Hello, my name is Lilith – yes, legally – and I was spat out of a hole from Hell to write about video games. I am unfortunately afflicted with a proclivity for em dashes and semi-colons, so I am excited to inflict that on my fellow writers here at Gamesline.

I can’t confidently say that I’m from anywhere in particular given my history of moving every two to three years, but I am currently located on the East Coast within America’s tiniest states. There, I sit and tinker on my own independent fiction, thoughts full of silver-haired anime maidens and video games. Between such thoughts, I occupy myself with running and writing tabletop RPGs for my friends – another deeply held passion of mine.

Gaming has been with me for my entire life. While I lived a somewhat lonely existence of someone constantly forced to relocate, I could always take solace in a story well told; a home found in the foundation of texture-warping Playstation 3D and CRT-bowed pixels. Some of my earliest memories are playing games such as Xenogears, Vagrant Story, The Legacy of Kain series, Timesplitters, and my weird messed up copy of Doom for the Super Nintendo – which probably explains a great deal why I am the way I am.

My preferences today are much the same as they were then. My love for JRPGs and shooters has never waned and has only grown stronger in the presence of so many new and novel games. As my preferences have matured, I have fallen even more for the potential I see in video games; tools that were once designed for specific hands taken up by anyone with the passion and the vision to craft with them. I want to shine a spotlight on those little creations as well as the large; for my own personal edification but also in the way that was foundational to this hobby’s origin – two kids sitting on some swings and talking about a thing that they love and want to be loved by someone else.

While the experience of writing reviews in an official capacity is new to me, I am excited to contribute my voice to this space, alongside the other talented and passionate people here. I hope that my words express even an ounce of the passion and love that I have for this hobby, and that we can all have a good experience together.
