For the Nintendo Switch’s launch long-time port house Hamster went to town and ported over a handful of Neo Geo classics. It’s never a bad idea to have a few versions of King of Fighters or Metal Slug ready to go. However, when you’re putting out NeoGeo games there are some clear classics that are missing, and Hamster knows. Without giving any release date (it better be soon) Hamster will release another six Neo Geo games on the PS4, Xbox One, and, it’s assumed, eventually on the Switch.

Neo Turf Masters, Samurai Showdown, Metal Slug, Fatal Fury, Alpha Mission 2, and Sengoku & World Heroes will all be coming. Samurai Showdown is a great fighting game and you can never play too many Metal Slug games, but let’s be clear. Neo. Turf. Masters. It’s usually regarded as the king of golf games and its crown can’t be knocked off over twenty years later. It isn’t a matter of if you should pick of Neo Turf Masters, but when.

The current slate of NeoGeo games all cost $7.99 each, which isn’t too bad when it comes to NeoGeo ports. And, if you’re like me and know the goodness of Neo Turf Masters, you’ll also have a copy of the greatest <del>golf</del> sports game in your backpack.
