When Nintendo released the New Nintendo 3DS XL in North America back in February, there was no indication we’d ever be getting a release of the regular-sized version. Now, things have kind of changed. Nintendo has announced the regular New 3DS is indeed coming to America…but only in an Animal Crossing bundle.
The bundle includes a regular-sized New 3DS, a download for Happy Home Designer, two sets of faceplates, and one single amiibo card. Anyone who’s been dying for a non-XL version of the New 3DS had better get ready to pony up $219.99 for the bundle, which at the moment is the only way to get the regular New 3DS. Hope you like Animal Crossing.
It makes sense that this bundle is what it is, because, hey, kids have smaller hands and Nintendo tends to make games geared towards a younger audience. It’s also probably unlikely that the (regular) New 3DS will stay bundle exclusive for long, what with this opening the floodgates for a consumer demand that’s been around for a while. At the very least, would it kill Nintendo to release some faceplates for the XL New 3DS?
You can order it here, if you’re so inclined.
