Trust no Mega Man.

Keiji Inafune’s projects are all on fire. As Red Ash lit asunder, fans and backers of Mighty No. 9 assumed its delay into 2016 was just to ensure the game’s quality. After all, games aren’t easy to make. To appease fans after the delay Inafune promised a three stage demo that would release this week, the original release target for Mighty No. 9. Fate however blew in another gust of wind and the fire spread. That apology demo has been delayed as well.

According to a developer at Comcept, “The team is working on it, but some issues popped up regarding the distribution method so there is a good chance it will not be ready to launch by the 15th. We are really sorry for the inconvenience.” The demo is downloadable and it’s only on PSN, for PS4 and PS3, so I’m not entirely sure what the problem could be. Both Sony and Microsoft work pretty hard to make it easy for developers to get on their systems and this explanation only leaves me more baffled.

I feel bad for backers of the original Mighty No. 9 Kickstarter who have no way of refunding their money but if you, for some reason, preordered this game, it may be a good time to cancel that order. This could still be a great game, whenever it finally comes out, but for now all I smell is smoke.
