We weren’t surprised thanks to a leak yesterday, but Game Informer’s latest cover reveal was the latest Batman game, Arkham Knight. After the underwhelming and buggy Arkham Origins left a bad taste in our mouth last year, I am optimistic with the news that Rocksteady, developer of the sensational original Asylum and the still fantastic City, will be returning to helm this supposed final entry.

In Arkham Knight, Scarecrow, Harley Quinn, Two Face, and The Penguin have taken over all of Gotham City. As Batman, you have to do what you do best, kick the crap out of thugs and solve mysteries to bring those crooks to justice. Other confirmed aspects of the game include a Harley Quinn pre-order bonus that lets you play as the conniving clown in challenge maps, and a focus on the Batmobile, which is drivable for the first time in the series. Personally, a focus on the Batmobile sounds a bit off putting, since that most likely means high speed chase sequences that aren’t great in crowded city streets like Arkham Knight seems to have. But I will give Rocksteady the benefit of the doubt for now, seeing as this is their last Arkham game and I hope they want to end the series with a bang and not a whimper.
